Since I was on vacation for Week 25; I thought I would combine the two weeks together.... Plus there hasn't been much change from last week to this week except the size of my belly.
Last week at the beach I finally really started to feel pregnant. My stomach is big and I feel huge. Week 25 did have its challenges for me. I had a weird pain one day- that turned into me curled in a ball not being able to move for awhile. Once that relaxed I did feel better but the next day brought some tightening around my lower abdomen and lower back. By the end of the night I wasn't walking to nice. I also didn't sleep well when on vacation.
Week 26 has brought much of the same. We went to the grocery store on Monday and I was hardly able to finish the trip my lower back hurt and my stomach was very tight. I haven't had many cravings while pregnant this time around. I was feeling so terrible at the beginning that all I knew was what I DIDN'T want. Now I am all about cheese dillas with the normal condiments that go along with it (TB mild sauce, guac, beans), and sweet pickles. I know, I know, weird... but they are so good!
I am sleeping much better now that I am back in my bed. Although I am sleeping with an ice pack to stay cool!! :) It was one of my best ideas yet!
I have my 1 hour glucose tolerance test tomorrow, then back to the doctors next week. I can't believe that after next week I will start making appointments every 2 weeks. Seems crazy right??
I requested my maternity leave paperwork this week from work. It is all becoming so much more real. Time to get the baby's room in order. I originally really wanted to repaint the room; but I'm not 100% on needing to do that now. Although I do have some other ideas that I would like to do. Better get going right?
I have set a goal for myself to try to breastfeed longer this time around.... anyone have any tips? With Charlie I just never LOVED it and never felt 100% comfortable. Emmy I didn't seem to produce enough and then just dried up. I am thinking that I might try more to pump and bottle feed with this one since I will have to return to work and that could make the transition easier. Any suggestions/comments/thoughts are welcomed.
Question/Thought: although this isn't directly related to my pregnancy- I would like to know--
How come someone can have ELECTIVE surgery and qualify for 26 weeks paid short term disability from work but someone that just has a baby can only get 6-8weeks paid??? You would have to bribe your doctor to some how work around the system to get the STD to cover the rest of the time... you just had a baby for goodness sake. Just doesn't seem to add up to me.
Hope you are having a great day. I will try to add a picture tonight!!! :)
